Maria Sharapova Wins French Open



Maria Sharapova has won the french open after beating opponent, Sara Errani of Italy, 6-3, 6-2 on saturday, 9th of June, 2012. This is the first time she has won the tournament and it is a grand slam addition to her career. She won her first major title in 2004 at Wimbledon when she was just 17 years old, then the United States Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008. She then had a shoulder surgery in 2008 which almost forced her into retirement. Instead she bounced back and made a comeback that shocked the tennis world.

Odemwingie is Getting Married


Osaze Odemwingie, is about to join the league of married men. The 31 year old Russian born footballer and Super Eagles striker will wed his British girlfriend, Sarrah Fallon, on the 2nd of June.

Pep Guardiola To Leave Barcelona at the End of the Season


The current Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he'll be leaving the spanish giants at the end of the season. He admitted that his decision to leave had been made in autumn, but decided to reveal the news to his players and the media following Barca's exit from the Champions League and the La Liga title race. He claimed that the main reason for his departure is the exhaustive nature of the job. His final game will be the Copa del Rey final clash with Athletic Bilbao on May 25. He is to be replaced by his assistant, Tito Vilanova.

Fabrice Muamba Discharged From Hospital

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder, Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed during the first half of Bolton's FA Cup quarter final at Tottenham on March 17, has been discharged from the London Chest hospital. The 24-year old's heart stopped for 78 minutes as medics battled to keep him alive which caused the match to be abandoned.

Samir Nasri Makes £10,000 Bet That He'll Get a Silverware Before Arsenal does

Former Arsenal FC star, Samir Nasri who now plays for Manchester City has involved himself in a £10,000 bet with talk show host Piers Morgan saying that he'll win a trophy with his present club before his former club does.
