N2 Billion Naira Lawsuit Slapped at Bishop Oyedepo For Assaulting Female Church Member

News circulated last year, or was it earlier this year (my memory isn't very good at the moment), concerning a young lady who was slapped by Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and general overseer of the Living Faith Christian Church International, popularly known as Winners, during a church service last year. The girl was slapped at the alter by Bishop Oyedepo because she claimed she was a witch for Jesus (or something like that, like i wrote my memory isn't very good right now). The video of the incident went viral, i actually happened to see it.

Now, Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer filed a N2 billion suit against Bishop Oyedepo on behalf of the young lady at the Ogun State High Court for the enforcement of the lady's fundamental rights to freedom from inhuman and degrading treatment, human dignity, fair hearing and freedom from discrimination. In the suit, Mr. Igbenedion mentioned that the young lady, while answering an "illegal" alter call, was trying to explain herself when the pastor gave her "a dirty and thunderous slap".
Mr. Igbinedion also represented the victims of Pastor Emeka Ezeugo a.k.a Reverend King at the Magistrate court in 2006.
Days after the "slapping video" went viral, another video surfaced in which Bishop Oyedepo claimed that it was his ministry to slap and that if he sees another witch, he'll slap as well.
For those who didn't see the "slapping video", you can watch it below.
