Using MTN BIS With a Modem to Browse Unlimitedly on PC

I know lots of BB users have wondered how they can connect their phones to a computer and surf the net using their active BIS subscription. I've heard that (but not yet confirmed) a blackberry phone can be used as a modem to browse the net using a PC. But there is good news still. You can use a SIM card with an active BIS subscription to browse unlimitedly on your PC. How?
Simply create an access point on your modem interface using the following settings:
APN: blackberry.net
Then download any of these softwares:
ULTRASURF (you can get it from here)
FREEGATE (you can get it from here: here)
Then connect the modem and run either of the softwares.
For ultrasurf, you can configure your browser to use this proxy 127.0.0.1 and port 9666.
For freegate, you can use this proxy 127.0.0.1 with port 8580.

To activate MTN BIS service for a week, send BBCWEEK to 21600 at the cost of N500.
If you want the monthly subscription, send BBC to 21600 at the cost of N1500.
If you encounter any problems, just indicate by commenting below and you surely get a reply.
Happy surfing!!!

  3. What exactly is the problem you're encountering? Is it with connecting the modem to the internet or with getting the ultrasurf or freegate to work?

    1. Of course you can still make calls with it. But that's if you put the sim in a phone or if the modem has the call feature. There shouldn't be any different effect. It'll just be like a sim with an active BIS subscription.

    1. You're right. That of MTN has stopped working. Etisalat's is better in the sense that after the expiry of the initial subscription, you can still browse with it.
